Lambeth Liberal Democrats will be campaigning to win the by election in Coldharbour on Thursday 13th September.
We want to provide a strong voice for local residents in a Labour-dominated council chamber that sometimes seems more concerned with its internal battles than working for a better Lambeth.
Coldharbour especially feels taken for granted by Labour, with a popular local councillor effectively deselected before 2018 for opposing the incumbent council's roughshod approach to issues like housing.
We believe we can better represent Coldharbour and bring some much-needed balance to the town hall.
We'll be fighting on housing - for an end to Labour's war on social housing. No regeneration without balloting!
We'll stand up for our local libraries, which have been under attack from Labour for so long. We'll Defend the Ten.
We'll lead the campaign for tough emission rules to sort out Brixton Road's poisonous fumes. More green powered buses and electric charging stations, and more initiatives to help local people who want to get around on foot or by bike!
We'll say no to local development without proper consultation, and to Network Rail's disgraceful squeezing of the Arches businesses.
We'll expose wasteful spending by Lambeth Council and fight for much better scrutiny of how your council tax is used.
We'll provide help, advice and a voice for local EU citizens threatened by Brexit, including 800 doctors and nurses working for the Kings College Hospital trust.
