Lambeth Labour on air pollution? Just hot air.

Local people have told us they think air pollution is one of the biggest environmental issues affecting our area.

One of the long-term solutions to cleaning up our air is to have greener vehicles on our roads. This will only happen if there are enough charging points for electric vehicles.

Shockingly Labour-dominated Lambeth Council failed to apply for Government funding for local authorities to install electric car charge points. As a result of Labour’s inaction, there is only a single charging point here in Streatham Wells.

Unlike Lambeth, neighbouring Wandsworth is leading the way on installing these charging points and is aiming to have them on every street in their borough.

Dominic Leigh, Lib Dem council candidate for Streatham Wells, said: “We’re calling for Lambeth Labour to give us more than just hot air when it comes to tackling air pollution.

“We need to match Wandsworth’s ambition and start installing more charging points across our borough to encourage more people to drive cleaner vehicles. Only through real action will we be able to bring air pollution down on Streatham High Road.”

If you think that Lambeth Labour should get its act together and apply for this funding, please sign our petition.
