Meet your prospective parliamentary candidates who will represent you in the next general election.
Vauxhall: Sarah Lewis
Sarah has called Brixton her home since 2009. She grew up just south of London and as a teenager she lived in the Caribbean.
Sarah advises leaders of businesses and charities, helping both to play a positive role in society. She used to work for the Gates Foundation – Bill and Melinda Gates’ personal charity. There, she campaigned for governments around the world to focus on the issues affecting the lives of the world’s poorest people, including health and access to financial services. Much of Sarah’s work has focused on India and sub-Saharan Africa.
Outside work, Sarah volunteers at the Advocacy Academy, which helps teenagers from South London to build their own campaigns on the issues they care about. She is also chair of Hatch, a digital magazine and consultancy that helps people bring about change in their local communities; and is an active campaigner for electoral reform.
Sarah enjoys the outdoors, including playing as an enthusiastic member of her local tag rugby team. She also enjoys live music at Brixton’s many local venues.
