Dominic works for an events company that organises policy briefings for charities, public and private sector organisations to help them prepare for new policy changes and to share best practice. The events he manages focus on housing, planning, local government finance and administration. If elected, he is hoping to use this experience to hold Lambeth Council to account.
Dominic also has experience of working for the Liberal Democrats on Leeds City Council, in Parliament and the European Parliament. Like most Lambeth residents, he strongly believes we need to continue to work with our EU partners on trade, security and environmental issues. He is campaigning for the UK to remain in the Single Market and for the British people to be given the opportunity to vote on an ‘Exit from Brexit’ at the end of Brexit negotiations. Helen Thompson lives in Streatham and gets around Lambeth by bicycle. Her top priorities are reducing air pollution and making our streets safe and pleasant for all, including cycle infrastructure. Helen is an ex-civil servant and previously worked in Afghanistan leading the British Embassy's work on girls' education and electoral reform.
On returning to London, Helen decided to fight to make her own community fairer and more inclusive. She now supports disability sports and refugee rights in south London outside her work at an humanitarian NGO. She wants to use her background in public-sector policy, governance and anti-corruption toensure that Lambeth Council's decisions are inclusive, transparent, and responsive to Streatham's needs.
