The area of Streatham Hill in recent years has been plagued by anti-social behaviour including offensive language, threatening behaviour, public urination, loud music past 11pm, drunk and disorderly conduct, the selling of illicit drugs, prostitution, vandalism, assaults, and a knife attack.
We, the undersigned, as residents of Streatham Hill, call on Lambeth Council to tackle anti-social and other criminal behaviour around our homes. We ask the Council to work with local partners, including the Lambeth Borough Police, to explore all available options to tackle these problems, including, but not limited to:
- Creating a strengthened Public Spaces Protection Order for the area between the junctions of Ardwell Road and Barhill Road on the Western side of, and Downton Avenue on the Eastern side of, Streatham Hill
- Increasing the resources devoted to tackling anti-social behaviour on and around the PSPO area, including the presence of a team of dedicated Public Protection Officers who perform daily Police Pedestrian Patrols
- Re-angling existing CCTV on police advice and installing new cameras at strategic points around the affected area.
