Chris French

Your Lib Dem candidate for Oval

Chris has spent much of the past decade focused on improving how local services
work for residents, particularly around health, housing, community safety, and
neighbourhood wellbeing.

Chris founded Lambeth Links, a local charity that brings together community groups,
public services, and residents to strengthen advocacy, improve access to support,
and tackle issues facing LGBTQ+ people across the borough.

He has played a leading role in community safety. While living in Oval ward, Chris
helped to re-establish the Oval Safer Neighbourhood Panel and served as its Chair,
working with residents and local police to shape neighbourhood policing priorities.
Earlier in his career, he served as a Special Constable in Lambeth, giving him first-
hand experience of local policing alongside a strong understanding of community
concerns. He later went on to re-establish the Lambeth Safer Neighbourhood Board,
helping unlock funding for crime prevention and safety programmes delivered by
community organisations across the borough.

Professionally, Chris runs a community health and social impact consultancy,
working with the NHS, local authorities, charities, and community organisations
across Lambeth and South London. His work focuses on tackling inequalities,
bringing services closer to neighbourhoods, and ensuring lived experience shapes
decision-making.

Chris also serves as a governor at South Bank Colleges, supporting skills,
education, and opportunities for local young and adult residents.

Chris is standing as a Liberal Democrat because he believes Lambeth needs
councillors who are visible, approachable, and focused on practical solutions. In Oval
ward, he wants to be a councillor who listens, shows up, and works with residents to
deliver real, everyday improvements.

He is currently the Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Vauxhall and Camberwell
Green, which includes Oval ward.
