Joe Wright

 Joe is standing in the Vauxhall ward where he works, having moved to Lambeth 5 years ago. He joined the Liberal Democrats to stand up for the rights and freedoms of ordinary people which have been eroded by successive governments. He was one of the authors of the Liberal Democrats 2024 General Election Manifesto, developing the party's policies to tackle the crises in social care and housing.

Joe is passionate about tackling the housing crisis in Lambeth and in London more broadly, ensuring everyone had a safe and secure place to live. He wants to see more council and social housing built, rather than the just the unaffordable developments Lambeth Labour support and invest in properly maintaining public housing.  

In his day job, Joe campaigns for fair taxes, so that the biggest corporations and the wealthiest individuals like Amazon and Elon Musk pay their fair share of tax. He has previously worked in housing planning and for the Treasury - so has a good track record on managing public finances and delivering the homes people need.

He is also a keen runner and hiker.
