Improving Northern Line's capacity
We are calling on TfL to increase Northern Line capacity to 34 trains per hour during peak times, increasing passenger places per hour from between 2,700 to 4,000.
The Northern line running through Lambeth is often overcrowded long before it reaches our borough - often leaving commuters queuing to enter the stations or platforms during peak times as well as waiting for several trains on the platform for space to enter. It is time TfL put some real effort into increasing capacity for Lambeth and other southern boroughs.
