Tobias Ikegbunam

Tobias is a graduate in International Relations (MSc), specialising in peacebuilding in post-conflict societies. He has worked in a wide range of sectors such as transport, education, hospitality, and recruitment. He currently works within the justice system where he has first and experience in the effects of the current court backlogs and the issues caused by it.

Together with his colleague, Charley, his pledge is that he will always be Streatham Hill East’s voice in the Town Hall, serving our community in the best way we can. Top issues he seeks to campaign on is ensuring that residents in Streatham Hill East feel safe in their community, ensuring that crime and anti-social behaviour is reduced, something that is likely to increase with the council’s plans of dimming streetlights. Together with other Lib Dem colleagues, he will ensure that we have a more accountable Town Hall that listens to residents, rather than imposing measures on residents. After successive elections of Labour holding a supermajority, he hopes to see a more normalised balance of power in the Town Hall, ensuring that there is a stronger opposition voice. 

Tobias has lived in Streatham since 2012 and in Lambeth for 26 years. Outside of politics and work, Tobias enjoys hiking, trying (but failing) to learn to speak French, reading, writing and travelling around the UK. He also enjoys photography and content creation while also learning new skills.
