One week to go before Lambeth Votes
With about a week to go before May 7’s Lambeth Council elections, we are campaigning hard across the Borough. We have knocked on tens of thousands of doors each month since 2025, and had thousands of conversations with Lambeth residents about what they want from their council. We have developed policies like a new community/mega skip for Lambeth - which the Labour and Green Parties liked so much they borrowed.
Residents want competent local government, positive policies and someone who will regularly pop around to their street or estate to talk to residents. They also want rid of Labour. That is why we are running our biggest local campaign in a decade.
Yesterday we had visits from special guests to help out campaign teams from the northern end of the borough to the south.
In Waterloo and South Bank, Doug and Elin were joined by Vikki Slade, MP for Mid Dorset and North Poole. Doug and Elin have been campaigning hard for a year to win the Ward off Labour. In 2022 we came within 67 votes of getting elected.
In Clapham Common and Abbeville Baroness Pidgeon, former London Assembly group leader and long term campaigner in Lambeth joined Chris and Simon. In 2022 we won one one seat here, topping the poll, with our second candidate narrowly missing out. This time we hope to get both elected.
Ben Maguire, MP for North Cornwall joined our teams in Kennington and the Streatham Hill East.
Adrian, Stevan and Wes in Kennington, and Alex and Tobias in Streatham Hill East have been working hard to take the fight to Labour. In both cases the Lib Dems used to represent large parts of the current wards until recently.
Elsewhere our other teams were working hard in Oval, Vauxhall, Stockwell and Streatham. We won’t stop campaigning till 10PM Thursday 7 May!
