The 2026 Results

A photo of Lambeth town hall

It took two days of counting but the results are finally here!

The Lambeth Liberal Democrats elected 8 new councillors, up from 3 in 2022.  This is a substantial expansion for our town hall team and will mean we will be in a much better position to both scrutinise the council and effect change.

We elected two councillors in Streatham Hill West and Thornton, Clapham Common and Abbeville, Streatham Wells, then one each in Waterloo and South Bank, and Stockwell East. This means we are back in the north of the Borough for the first time since 2010's election.

Commiserations to our candidates who did not get elected. We attracted such a great team of people for 2026 and it would have been amazing if more had been elected. We hope they will keep involved and that there will be opportunities for them to use their talents.

Our new council group will be meeting to elect their officers and see how best we can as a party operate in the town hall, given that Lambeth is now in No Overall Control after years of Labour control. Watch this space.
