Save the Lambeth Country Show
For over 40 years, the Lambeth Country Show has been south London’s most loved community event. Held in Brockwell Park, it brings together people from every background, bringing joy to local families.
From the famous vegetable animal competition to medieval jousting and sheep-shearing. Talented young local musicians and dancers perform alongside reggae stars like Aswad and David Rodigan MBE. Best of all, it’s free to attend.
Now, the future of the Lambeth Country Show is at risk. Labour-run Lambeth council have cancelled the 2026 show, without consulting local residents.
They say it will cost £1 million, but that is misleading. Last year it cost less than half that amount - £400k - because the Country Show is mainly funded by the commercial festivals in Brockwell Park. Their figures don’t add up!
Save the Lambeth Country Show
We , the undersigned, are calling on Lambeth Council to save the Country Show - by finding ways to cut costs and increase revenues from commercial events. Let’s save the Show which brings our community together, rather than dividing us.
